Meet the Principal

Welcome to Cherry Valley Elementary School!

I am very proud to represent Rockford Public Schools, staff, parents, and students as principal of Cherry Valley Elementary School. Our vision is for Cherry Valley to be a safe, welcoming, 21st Century learning community inclusive of all learners and families. In order for this to happen, all stakeholders need to engage in a role of partnership to educating students.

Staff: Create and implement lessons incorporating 21st century learning skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity). Develop relationships with students and parents to support and foster student achievement and citizenship. Engage parents/families by providing opportunities to be a part of their child’s education and development. Communicate openly and respectfully with parents to be able to support them and their child.

Parents: Communicate with school staff openly and respectfully on a regular basis to ensure child’s needs are being met. Engage in activities to support learning by reading school notes, establishing learning expectations at home, and attending school events when possible.

Students: Engage in lessons and activities to build knowledge, confidence, and achievement. Build relationships with others following the expectations of being respectful responsible, and safe.

I take a “team” approach to working with staff, parents, and students to help develop and support the whole child. I look forward to meeting and building relationships with all families and students in the upcoming year. I am very open to input from parents and the community on how to best serve you and your child.
